Partnership/Grants Associate and Knowledge Manager
BRAC has partnered with the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA), a development research hub headquartered at the University of California, Berkeley. CEGA is a network of 70+ US and Canadian academic researchers using rigorous field trials, behavioral experiments, and tools from data science to measure and maximize the impacts of economic development programs throughout the world. Together, BRAC and CEGA have created a pilot “Collaborative” program that helps BRAC researchers design and implement field evaluations, and then feed the results back into program delivery. CEGA benefits from this collaboration through access to experiment with innovative programs and rich datasets derived from such interventions. The Partnership/Grants Associate and Knowledge Manager will serve as a focal person for this collaboration by:
- Maintaining the day-to-day activities under the collaboration;
- Serving as its point person from BRAC International to communicate and implement operational decisions reached in discussion with the project lead and partners; and
Serving as the knowledge and quality manager for IERC in all BRAC International countries.
As a partnership/grant associate, major responsibilities include:
a. Conduct day-to-day activities under the collaboration such as maintaining communication with counterparts at CEGA, UC Berkeley, update Project Lead on progress of various developments;
b. Track adherence to project goals and activities set in collaboration with the project lead and partners; and
c. Lead in carrying out major activities such as workshop events, etc., in consultation with the project lead.
- As the knowledge and quality manager, major responsibilities include:
a. Track and ensure quality (mainly language and presentation) of all completed research manuscripts conducted by IERC teams across BRAC International countries;
b. Lead and facilitate the implementation of an internal peer-review system in consultation with Director, IERC;
c. Edit the manuscripts to produce working papers and research briefs upon advice from the Director, IERC; and
d. Managing the development of IERC web page and its maintenance on a regular basis.
e. Track and disseminate information on upcoming conferences of interest to IERC members
- Assist the Director, IERC and the Project Lead in other activities not listed above as and when required.
· Excellent command over both spoken and written English and the ability to edit research manuscripts;
· Excellent oral, facilitation, and written communication skills;
· Well versed in development discourse, especially in developing country/African context;
· Have a basic understanding of development research and impact evaluation;
· Ability to work with and coordinate large multi-country and multi-cultural teams; and
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Power point.
Masters from a reputable international university/institute concentrating on International development, economics, development studies, education or public health
Two years post-masters experience in the development sector. Preference will be given to candidates with some managements and/or editorial experience in the fields of international development, economics, development studies, education and/or public health. Experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder projects will be an asset during the selection process.
